Analysis Of The Matrix - 1277 Words

The movie â€Å"The Matrix† holds a melange of axioms that portray the state of humankind today. The Financial Matrix† though the most vivid of these is not singular. Another that is just as captivating to the masses is the questioning of reality. If you’ve seen the movie you’ll recall that Neo goes with Morpheus to visit the Oracle to see if he is â€Å"The One† who will save humanity from the machines. In the Oracle’s home are a number of young children with extraordinary mind powers who are potential candidates to fulfill the prophecy. One of them is a boy, about age ten, with a shaved head and wearing a robe, sitting cross-legged on the floor. Neo watches him in fascination as he picks up spoons and bends them with his mind. Noticing that†¦show more content†¦However, more recently my convictions about God’s sovereignty and the universal nature of His truth have compelled me to re write that proclamation to exclude the phrase â€Å"I believe it†. Not because I don’t believe it, but because my belief or lack thereof cannot change what is. Believing it or not is merely my â€Å"perception† of what is. The spoon exists regardless. The extent to which I will be encouraged or changed by the Truth that is, will determine the outcome of my actions, beliefs and resulting success or failure. Reality is what it is. We cannot change it by questioning or arguing with it. All we have power to change is our perception of and relationship with it. â€Å"Question Everything† is a dangerous and misleading world view. â€Å"Question Everything† is the angry, belligerent chant of the disillusioned, disenfranchised, and embittered who feel like they’ve been given a raw deal by â€Å"the man.† Knowing this helps me to understand why its so difficult to relate truth to society, no matter how lovingly, without almost always facing cynicism, argument and even belligerence.
